Hello everyone, happy new year to all; back to the routine after a long trip to Centroamérica. Today I’m so excited to share with you my travel guide to one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean, Roatan Islas de la Bahia Honduras.

Hola a todas, feliz año nuevo; De vuelta a la rutina después de un largo viaje a Centroamérica. Hoy estoy muy emocionada de compartir con ustedes mi guía de viaje a una de las islas más hermosas del Caribe, Roatan Islas de la Bahía, Honduras.

How to Get to Roatan.

There are two ways to get to Roatan: By land or by water. You can either take a ferry from La Ceiba Honduras or you can fly into Roatan Airport. There are direct flies from the USA or you can take a fly from San Pedro Sula Honduras or Tegucigalpa Honduras. We took a one-hour ferry from La Ceiba ( 6 hours from my home town Copan). Honestly was a terrible experience to take the ferry if you don’t have a strong stomach I recommend not to taking it, the waves are super strong, they already know and they give you vomit bags. I had taken others ferry in the past and never experience that kind of thing. If you want to do it take a Dramamine. it’s important to mention that the flight and the ferry are very similar prices.

Hay dos maneras de llegar a Roatan: por tierra o por agua. Puedes tomar un ferry desde La Ceiba Honduras o puedes volar al aeropuerto de Roatan. Hay vuelos directos desde EE. UU. o puede volar desde San Pedro Sula Honduras o Tegucigalpa Honduras. Tomamos un ferry de una hora desde La Ceiba (6 horas desde mi ciudad natal de Copan). Honestamente, fue una experiencia terrible tomar el ferry, si no tienes un estómago fuerte te recomiendo que no lo hagas, las olas son muy fuertes, ellos lo saben y te dan bolsas para vomitar. Había tomado otros ferrys en el pasado y nunca experimenté ese tipo de cosas. Algo importante de mencionar es que tanto el vuelo como el ferry tienen precios muy similares.

Where to Stay In Roatan

When we travel we love to stay at All-Inclusive resorts and this time we had a hard time booking the hotel, I think they usually not offer the ALL-Inclusive unless you ask for it so, we decided to call directly to the hotel and ask for it. We stayed at the Infinity Bay Beach Resort is a beautiful hotel in the west bay area with modern villas, a big pool and only 50 feet from the stunning beach. A perfect place even for couples or families. Activities such as horseback riding, canoeing, fishing, hiking, and diving can be arranged at the Infinity Bay. of course, there are a lot of other options around there. there are small hotels where you can stay and you can find public beaches to enjoy. one important point is that there is no bus transportation to west bay.

Cuando viajamos, nos encanta alojarnos en resorts con todo incluido y esta vez tuvimos dificultades para reservar el hotel, creo que generalmente no ofrecen el TODO INCLUIDO a menos que lo solicites, decidimos llamar directamente al hotel y pregunta por ello. Nos alojamos en el Infinity Bay Resort, es un hermoso hotel en el área de la bahía oeste con villas modernas, una gran piscina y a solo 50 pies de la impresionante playa. Un lugar perfecto incluso para parejas o familias. El Infinity Bay organiza actividades como paseos a caballo, piragüismo, pesca, senderismo y submarinismo. Habíamos arreglado el transporte con nuestro hotel de antemano, así que nos recogieron en el puerto y nos llevaron a nuestro hotel. por supuesto, hay muchas otras opciones por ahí. Hay hoteles pequeños donde puedes alojarte y puedes encontrar playas públicas para disfrutar. Un punto importante es que no hay transporte en autobús a West Bay.

What to do In Roatan:

Visit Guambalinda Park: is a family-friendly attraction in the island of Roatan that offers its visitors the opportunity to mingle with friendly white-face Capuchin monkeys and free-flying exotic birds (Including macaws, parrots, and hummingbirds). there are iguanas all around the park too.

Visitar el parque Guambalinda: es una atracción familiar en la isla de Roatan que ofrece a sus visitantes la oportunidad de mezclarse con simpáticos monos capuchinos de cara blanca y aves exóticas en vuelo libre (incluidos guacamayos, loros y colibríes). Hay iguanas alrededor del parque también.

Visit El Farro: If you want to admire the amazing views that the island has to offer you have to visit this place. It is the most impressive views combining the ocean blue waters with the green trees.

Visite El Farro: si deseas admirar las increíbles vistas que ofrece la isla, debes visitar este lugar. Es la vista más impresionante combinando las aguas azules del océano con los árboles verdes.

Visit other islands: Utila, Cayos cochinos ( my favorite) are some places you can visit from Roatan.

Shop: There are a ton of local boutiques, gift shops and art stores that are really unique and fun.

What to Where in Roatan:

Average temperatures in Roatan vary very little; but I will say between 73 to 80 degrees every day; a very warm weather; a pair of swimsuits, casual sandals to walk around the area are a must, definitely a blue or white dress for dress lovers like me, some comfy shorts and please bring or buy a repellent you will need it for mosquitoes 😉 .

I’m happy to tell you that all the pieces I wore to Roatan I bought them all in my city Santa Rosa de Copan! I found such a great pieces! Great news for my latinas and Hondurans readers and for the rest I’m sharing some similar ones below of each pic.

Las temperaturas medias en Roatan varían un poco; Pero diré entre 73 y 80 grados todos los días; un clima muy cálido; como siempre les menciono cada una tiene su estilo pero en lo general para un clima caliente y de playa un par de trajes de baño, sandalias informales para caminar por el área son una necesidad, definitivamente un vestido azul o blanco para los amantes de los vestidos como yo, unos pantalones cortos cómodos y por favor traiga o compre un repelente que lo necesitará para los mosquitos. 😉
