Hello everyone, time is flying and we are just two months away from a new year; last week we had a beautiful family trip to The Bahamas and today I want to share with you my travel guide to The Bahamas. As some know English is my second language so please forgive any spelling errors. 

The Bahamas has 700 islands, yeah many! but not all are habitable; In this post, I will be talking about Nassau the capital of the Bahamas that is where we stayed and two more islands that we visited from Nassau; Atlantis Paradise Island and Sandals island.

Hola a todas, el tiempo está volando y estamos a solo dos meses de un nuevo año; la semana pasada tuvimos un hermoso viaje familiar a Las Bahamas y hoy quiero compartir con ustedes mi guía de viaje a Las Bahamas. 

Como algunos de ustedes saben, las Bahamas tienen 700 islas, ¡sí, muchas! pero no todos son habitables; En este post, hablaré específicamente de Nassau, la capital de las Bahamas, que es donde nos hospedamos, y dos islas más que visitamos desde Nassau; Atlantis Paradise Island y la isla Sandals.

Where we stayed:

This time we decided to stay in one same place all week, we were traveling with our little one,  a TODDLER OF TWO!! so, we take it easy and convenient; We stayed at the MELIA NASSAU BEACH all-inclusive Resort and we are very happy with our choice; we really love the place, has an excellent location just a few minutes from the center, shops, airport, and others famous hotels; we also loved the pools, has a big family pool perfect for the little ones and an adults pool; the beautiful beach and the stunning turquoise colors of the sea is simply perfection. 

About the food, the hotel has a big buffet, and we tried some of its 7 restaurants, a Mexican restaurant called Cilantro and an Italian called Aqua. we really enjoyed both (especially the Mexican of course 😉 ).  The rooms have a stunning view of the Atlantic Ocean that I really loved.

Donde nos hospedamos:

Esta vez decidimos quedarnos en el mismo lugar toda la semana, ¡estábamos viajando con nuestro pequeño, un niño de dos años! por eso lo tomamos fácil y conveniente; Nos alojamos en el MELIA NASSAU BEACH Resort todo incluido y estamos muy contentos con nuestra elección; realmente amamos el lugar, tiene una excelente ubicación a solo unos minutos del centro, tiendas, aeropuerto y otros hoteles famosos; también nos encantaron las piscinas, tiene una gran piscina familiar perfecta para los más pequeños y una piscina para adultos; La hermosa playa y los impresionantes colores turquesa del mar son simplemente la perfección.

Acerca de la comida, el hotel tiene un gran buffet, y probamos algunos de sus 7 restaurantes, un restaurante mexicano llamado Cilantro y un italiano llamado Aqua. Disfrutamos mucho de las dos ( especialemte el mexicano por supuesto 😉 ). Las habitaciones tienen una vista impresionante del Océano Atlántico que realmente me encantó.

What we visited

Sandals Island:

You can see this little but stunning island from Nassau; The Melia hotel provides a boat almost every hour to sandals island for free. I will say that Sandals island has the most beautiful beach I visited in the Bahamas, we spent a whole day on the water and we also went swimming with the dolphins. ( they don’t allow cameras and by the time I was looking to buy the pics the boat to return to Nassau was about to leave! I know so sad) but anyways, the name of the dolphin was Mickey and is from Honduras 😉 .

Lo que visitamos:

Isla Sandalias:

Puedes ver esta pequeña pero impresionante isla de Nassau; El hotel Melia ofrece un barco casi cada hora a la isla de Sandals gratis. Diré que la isla Sandals tiene la playa más hermosa que visité en las Bahamas, pasamos un día entero en el agua y también fuimos a nadar con los delfines. (¡No permiten cámaras y cuando estaba buscando comprar las fotos, el barco para volver a Nassau estaba a punto de partir! Lo sé bien triste), pero de todos modos, el nombre del delfín era Mickey y es de Honduras 😉 .

Downtown Nassau:

I loved downtown Nassau, you know why? there are a lot of pink and colonial buildings! I know that PROBABLY you know about my “pink obsession” but if you know me a little bit more, you know I love everything of the colonial era and the Nassau downtown has that architecture; I really enjoyed so much walking around the center with my little crew. We visited a straw market, little souvenirs, luxury stores ( just to watch) 😉 and of course we stop for a delicious gelato.

El centro de Nassau:

Me encantó el centro de Nassau, ¿sabes por qué? ¡Hay muchos edificios rosados y coloniales! Sé que PROBABLEMENTE saben sobre mi “obsesión  rosada”, pero si me conoces un poco más, sabes que me encanta todo de la época colonial y el centro de Nassau tiene esa arquitectura; Realmente disfruté mucho caminando por el centro con mi pequeña tripulación. Visitamos un mercado de paja, pequeños souvenirs, tiendas de lujo (solo para ver) y, por supuesto, paramos por un delicioso helado.

Atlantis Paradise Island:

If you go to the Bahamas you have to go to this place. It’s like its name says a PARADISE, a dream come true! it’s maybe 10 minutes from the hotel, a large bridge separates it from Nassau. You can visit the Atlantis Museum, the adventure park, the beach, casino, stay at the hotel etc. I couldn’t take good pictures to share with you but if you google it you will be impressed. It’s quite expensive but worth it.

Atlantis Paradise Island:

Si vas a las Bahamas tienes que ir a este lugar. Es como su nombre lo dice un PARAÍSO, un sueño hecho realidad! está a unos 10 minutos del hotel, un gran puente lo separa de Nassau. puedes visitar el Museo Atlantis, el parque de aventuras, la playa, el casino, hospedarse en el hotel, etc. No pude tomar buenas fotos para compartir con usted, pero si lo busca en Google, quedará impresionado. Es bastante caro pero vale la pena.

The others two days we just stayed at the hotel enjoying the pool, beach, smoothies, food, and concerts. but there are a lot of more fun activities you can do in the Bahamas, like the zoo, snorkeling, visit more islands and capes etc.

We are so happy to add one more place to our bucket list as a family and can not wait to book the next one and of course, has to be a tropical one ;).

Los otros dos días nos quedamos en el hotel disfrutando de la piscina, la playa, los batidos, la comida y los conciertos. pero hay muchas más actividades divertidas que puedes hacer en las Bahamas, como el zoológico, snorkeling, visitar más islas y cabos, etc.

Estamos muy contentos de agregar un lugar más a nuestra lista de deseos como familia y no podemos esperar para reservar el próximo y, por supuesto, tiene que ser tropical 😉 .
